STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.

Goals

Smart Goal behind this venture is to transfer all the valuable skills to underprivileged teenagers so that they can learn STEM skills by themselves, by doing this our initiative will be sustainable as those skills will transfer from one skilled person to non-skilled person over the time and will get a shape of #skills share movement.

So far with the effort of our circle members we were able to achieve our main goal before the deadline. It all happened due to the mutual understanding, commitment, expertise, excellent coordination and planning skills. We have achieved 90% tasks where as working on the rest of 10%. While running our project, we know the value of goals how they can lead us towards success.

Progress

We finalized our Website layout design with help of fellow Aftab Saqib, who with his profound expertise made a great contribution towards this project along with that a big thanks to Xecreators for who minimized our load by providing free of cost hosting services services.

Challenges

Our biggest challenge was to target Potential audience. We find reaching out people and introducing them to our portal as a huge obstacle because due to current pandemic situation it became difficult for us to reach out and engage with the right audience. To overcome this we utilized online platforms and get maximum help from them.

Targeting the right audience was also a huge issue for us because we were not clear at the start which age group, gender, area should we target. We did a keen analysis on all these aspects and online tools helped us a lot to get the exact analysis within the mean time.

After figuring out the right audience group the foremost challenge was to upload the quality content for this purpose blogs were proofread many time to ensure that their standard is up to the mark.

Changed Approach

Until last blog we decided to collaborate with other organizations to promote our portal STEM Cell Pakistan but due to worsening pandemic situation we diverted our approach towards online platform to outreach people.

Impact

Facebook Page

We left no stone to turned to get maximum people attention and we can wholeheartedly say that we achieved our target. We use Facebook and its demographic feature to attack specific origin people and to promote our portal.

Future Approach

We began this portal with the promise to proceed with small inclusion. We will better and enhance our target audience, our approach, and our services. In future we will try to bring our portal on big scale by targeting various institutions and organizations.

Reflection

My

By the grace of Allah Almighty and sincere dedication of circle fellows we are able to transform our ideas into actions. By taking the time to stop and appreciate who you are and what you’ve achieved — and perhaps learned through a few mistakes, stumbles and losses — you actually can enhance everything about you. Self-acknowledgment and appreciation are what give you the insights and awareness to move forward toward higher goals and accomplishments.

I can no other answer make but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks to fellows who went extra-mile to make this project a success. Atif presented us his worthy ideas and plans to work on this project and helped in streamlining documentation. Aftab put his efforts and helped us getting stuff finalized relating to website. His efforts from coordination for purchasing domain to website layout and designing are tremendous. Arooj contributed her graphic designing expertise that helped us in reaching out audience.

Muneeba Haider’s Reflection

Blogs have been written in such a way that anyone can understand. At the same time, they also provide comprehensive and detailed information. We are working on more blogs. Engagement on our Instagram page is also increasing day by day.

It was difficult to approach audience at first. So we created pages on different social media platforms to spread awareness. As youth spends a big chunk of time on social media, we were able to aware them about our mission in this way. Due to lockdown, it was difficult to arrange meetings and collaborations. To overcome this challenge, we opted for Zoom application and group calls. Also we followed SOPs during in-person meetings. Our mega project has received huge appreciation as it is versatile in nature. It is attracting more and more people every day.

Kainat Shoukat’s Reflection

It was difficult for us to introduce a new website among the audience and get their attention. But by the days passing the hard work and dedication of team made it possible and now Alhamdulilah the number of audiences is increasing with every passing day.

Arooj Aziz’s Reflection

We have to face the major issue of spreading the awareness of our website because in this COVID-19 situations we are out of university and our social circle so that is the major challenge. But today’s world is all online and social media is controlling it so we have the best opportunity to spread the awareness through social media, advertisements and webinars.

We decided the courses which are related to our field but still we need to look upon them very carefully and providing the best and accurate material is the difficult task to do. But we are confident and we proofread all the material.

Yahya’s Reflection

It was actually a great journey with a team having ability and dedication of giving knowledge and to empower young ones as they had their strong command on their respective fields.

Shahid’s Reflection

At first, it was very difficult to on board every member of our circle on this idea. After few discussions we decided a broader idea. That idea was to launch STEM Cell Agahi portal and to make our ambassador in different country. And, we already had meeting with few people from India, Bangladesh etc. but this idea was not achievable. So, we had few more meetings and convince our all-team member to launch a website for the moment and later we can work more on this project.

Qadeer’s Reflection

Streamlining the idea in a way that the whole group show consensus on it and I think it was a kind of hurdle it was a difficult task for us to convince everyone about the different aspect of our mega project. Another hurdle that I noticed during our mega project progress was the challenge to incorporate the best possible solutions in our mega project to generate some efficient output in a short period of time.

Aftab’s Reflection

STEM Cell Pakistan is brain child of of several persons. Thankfully our team has members from different fields of education and expertise. All members have different ideas. Thanks to the brilliant expertise and leadership of Areeba, Stem Cell incorporated visions and ideas of all members. And the outcome is great and sustainable.

Atif’s Reflection

When one of our idea was finalized in the first meeting to be pitch forward, the hurdle was to streamline the idea in a way that the whole group show consensus on it. Indeed it was a difficult task for us to convince everyone about the different aspect of our mega project. However, in such situation of turmoil, Amal principles & learning really help us to tackle the situation. Specifically, the concept of being an MVTP and Ek or EK gyara motivate us to slow and steady win the race.

Another thing I noticed during our mega project progress was the challenge to incorporate the best possible solutions in our mega project to generate some efficient output in a short period of time. Again, thanks to Amal team for giving us the opportunity to understand design thinking. Comprehending this concept was a saviour for all of us.

Way more to go Societineers!
