Since everything is a reflection of our minds, everything can be changed by our minds.

Last few months have been long and tough for me. The bad can often outweigh and overshadow the good. There can be a lot of negativity spread in times such as these, and whilst I have found it difficult and upsetting at times, my experience hasn’t been all bad. We learn and we grow from our experiences, whether they are good, bad or just somewhere in the middle.

There are many incidents, conversations and interactions that has impacted me throughout Amal journey, but one conversation which I cherish the most is with Yahya one of my circle fellow during LG meeting.

In one of meeting we were discussing about compromising on things we can’t control, I was reluctant on agreeing to this point he told me a story: “ One a king had a minister who had habit of saying jo hota hai achay ky liye hota hai. One day king went on hunting trip with his minister and some servants, after hunting a deer when king took out knife to slaughter the deer he accidently got a cut from knife. Seeing this minister said jo hota hai achay ky liye hota, king got really exasperated he ordered his servants to take minister back to palace and execute him and in fury he alone went deeper into jungle.

In bottomless and dense jungle he was caught by some members of Cannibal tribe and they seized him for their lunch, amidst all this one of cannibal noticed the cut on king’s thumb. He went up to his leader and told him that king is injured and they are prohibited to eat a wounded human. For all these reasons they freed the king. He went back to palace, told minister how his saying has saved his life along that he asked minister how he himself got benefited as he was going to be executed. Minister replied if you (king) haven’t sent me here then after you it would be me who was left as cannibals meal. XDDDD

Many of us think that the quote “Everything is happening for a reason” is very simple and it seems to be the very easiest one to follow in our lives. But once it is implemented in our lives, we feel it’s very difficult to apply the same in our life in all situations. According to many psychological studies about life-changing thoughts for the people will always come from the person’s subconscious mind when they face their worst situation that they failed to handle in their life.

You have to find out the reason for the question “why this is happening in my life”. But the problem with most of us is very similar while handling the situation in our life. We are carrying the worries and negativity like a shadow in our daily life.

Why this is happening to me?” and “why this is happening only to me?” are the two types of self-questioning.

  • For the first type of self-questioning, Wise man always thinks about his own situation in the way of “Why this is happening to me?” and he has to decrypt the lesson from the same which happened in his life.
  • For the second type of self-questioning, the normal person always thinks about his own situation in the way of “Why this is happening only to me?” and he is not ready to decrypt the lesson from the same which happened in his life. He is always asking the question to the universe and blaming the entire universe for the reason of the things happening in his life. His point is “Why this is happening only to me?” why not for my neighbor/someone.

Every human wants to be a wise person, but many of us are lagging behind in implementing the patterns and virtual practice for achieving it. Doing is good, but that comes when thinking is absolutely good. Self-questioning is only an effective way to read our own mind and it is the only tool which helps people to become a wise person. Real wisdom always lies in self-questioning, at least five minutes a day has to be spent on this ritual.

The ultimate goal of human life is not happiness, it is “freedom”. The freedom always lies in self-questioning and its ritual.

Misery comes after every moment of happiness, because they both are exactly like the sides of the coin. Misery and happiness may be far apart or near.
